It’s August. It’s summer. It’s holiday time. So where shall we all go – St Lucia? Barbados? Rhyll? No, there’s only one place we feel we want to be this time of the year. We demand wind lashed legs and schizophrenic temperatures so we have to wear all our clothes at once! We crave people shoving flyers in our faces about “hilarious comedy shows” that turn out to be GCSE drama student dross! We want to get caught up in the review hysteria and end up wasting an hour of our lives watching one act plays about women’s struggling sexuality performed in mime by people dressed as owls! Yes! We demand Edinburgh Festival and we demand it now!

As if by magic our wish has been granted and for one night only the hit of Edinburgh Fringe 2010 (yeah, we know they all say that, but we promise we’re dead good) return to bring an all-out riotous romp through the magical world of pop to give the weary souls of the Scottish capital the biggest party in town and end the festival with a bang, ker-pow and indeed WALLOP.

After spending the entire month of August there last year (housed in the beautiful Assembly@Princes Street Gardens Speigeltent) we played our pop socks off every weekend of the festival and promptly fell in love with the city, the people, the abundance of sugar-laden native treats and thus cannot keep away. So on Saturday 27th August we shall be pulling into Waverly station with a colossal pile of records, glitter and stupendous costumes to sprinkle our bewitching magic about the HMV Picture House and give everyone a perfect opportunity to dance themselves daft.

High-kicking their way to the stage shall be the cast of Guilty Pleasures, the unashamedly and unabashed rabble of djs, dancers, performers and show offs including the trio of be-spangled acrobatic brilliance that are Hot Gusset and the all-singing all-dancing all-falling-off-the-stage dj Anna Greenwood.

More shall join us on stage – maybe you – as we celebrate and kick up our heels bidding farewell to the Festival and saying hello to hangovers and temporarily crippled feet all in the space of a few hours. Coo worra journey that shall be. Just like X Factor (but without the budget. And people crying about their dead Gran. And Simon Cowell).

So come join our conga us as we bring our heart-thumping, show-stopping, disco dancing rollercoaster of a night out to town and paint the town POP!
